REGISTRATION OF BIRTHS
- The FULL (including the names of the parents) birth certificate of the child.
- The passports of both parents. Greek citizens may alternatively produce their identity cards.
- Certificate of registration in a Municipality in Greece of the Greek spouse/es (where the marriage must be shown as registered).
- Greek parent must attend in person for the registration of the birth.
Provided that all documents are submitted the registration of a birth is conducted the same day.
REGISTRATION OF DEATH OF GREEK NATIONALS
- The Greek Passport or ID card of the deceased.
- Certificate of registration in a Municipality in Greece of the deceased.
- Death certificate issued by the British Borough of the deceased
- The Passport (or if it is a Greek national the Greek ID card) of the person who declares the death.
Provided that all documents are submitted the registration of a death is conducted the same day
REPATRIATION OF THE DECEASED
- Death certificate issued by the British Borough of the deceased.
- Death certificate issued by the Consulate General of Greece (provided that the deceased was a Greek National).
- Coroner’s certificate (usually care of the Funeral Services Agency).
- Embalmment certificate (usually care of the Funeral Services Agency).
- Permission to exit UK certificate issued by the relevant British Authority(usually care of the Funeral Services Agency).
REGISTRATION OF MARRIAGES IN UK
- The passports of the newly married couple. Greek citizens may alternatively produce their identity cards.
- Certificate of registration in a Municipality in Greece of the Greek spouse/es.
- Original marriage certificate from the British Authorities.
- Greek spouse must attend in person for the registration of the marriage.
Provided that all documents are submitted the registration of a marriage is conducted the same day
CIVIL MARRIAGE IN THE CONSULATE GENERAL OF GREECE IN LONDON
- Application for a civil marriage in the Consulate General of London.
- Marriage licenses
- For the Greek citizens the marriage license is issued by the Municipality where he/she is registered in Greece.
- For the non Greeks, who are married with Greek citizens, by the relevant authority of their country.
- The passports of the future spouses.
- Two witnesses (holding valid passports) must attend the wedding
